It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the recent death of a student, Omar
Horani, age 21. The cause of his death on Aug. 17, 2013, is unknown at this time.
Omar was a senior biology major from Tigard, Oregon, and a member of Adams State’s
men’s lacrosse team.
During difficult times, it is important to draw strength from each other and from
the larger community of which we are a part. Free and confidential counseling is
available for students, faculty, and staff who may need support in dealing with this
loss.

Students can contact the University’s Counseling Center, located in 220 Richardson
Hall, 719-587-7746. Support is also available from the Campus Ministries Center,

All faculty and staff members can receive counseling services from the Colorado
State Employee Assistance Program (C-SEAP), which can be reached by calling
