Banner PROD Downtime & CS Maintenance this week (Feb 16-18)

Computing Services has several maintenance items on the schedule for this week. See below for details:

***Banner PROD Downtime and CS Maintenance for Thursday, 2/16/23***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening and lasting until approximately 5:00 AM Friday morning, the Banner Production environment will be unavailable while Oracle PSU security updates are deployed. During this time, ALL Banner PROD services will be unavailable, including Banner Admin, Self-Service, Web-Services, and School Services, etc.

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening, Computing Services will be installing February 2023 Microsoft patches/updates to our test systems for future deployment. We anticipate no impact for client-facing systems.

Beginning at 7:00 AM MST Saturday, and lasting until approximately 10:00 AM, the Banner Production environment will be unavailable while Financial Aid updates are deployed. During this time, ALL Banner PROD services will be unavailable, including Banner Admin, Self-Service, Web-Services, and School Services, etc.

Brief wifi outage as part of Computing Services Maintenance for this week (2/9-10)

***Campus Wifi Maintenance – late Thursday, 2/9 through early Friday, 2/10*** 

Beginning at 12:00 midnight MST Thursday evening, 2/9, and lasting until 7:00 AM MST Friday morning, 2/10, Wifi users will experience a brief interruption to wifi services. Each of the campus wireless access points (AP) will experience a brief outage (5-10 minutes) as part of the upgrade process to our Aruba wireless system, but should automatically reconnect once the AP restarts. 

If you experience issues connecting to wifi on Friday morning, please reboot your devices as a first step. If you still have trouble connecting, please contact the ASU Computing Services Helpdesk at (719) 587-7741 or contact us via email at computingservices@adams.edu.

Computing Services Maintenance for this week (1/18-19)

***Computing Services Maintenance for Wednesday, 1/18/23***

Beginning at 7:00 PM MST this evening, we will be performing several maintenance activities on our Xtender Production system. During this migration, users will not be able to use Xtender for approximately 4 hours while the maintenance is performed.

***Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 1/19/23***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST, Thursday evening, 1/19/23, we will be installing January Microsoft Windows updates to all Windows-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers. These patches will force a reboot, so please log off and leave your computers on at the end of your work day tomorrow to assist with installation.

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MST, we will be installing January updates on all Windows production servers. During the installation of these updates, users will experience intermittent outages (5-15 minutes) and brief interruptions to network services as systems reboot.

Computing Services Maintenance for this week (1/11-12)

***Computing Services Maintenance for Wednesday, 1/11/23***

Beginning at 6:00 PM MST this evening, and lasting approximately 3 hours, we will be upgrading the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), the system used to push all Windows updates, software updates, and new applications. We expect no impact to users outside of Computing Services while this maintenance is performed

***Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 1/12/23***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening, Computing Services will be installing January 2023 Microsoft patches/updates to our test systems for future deployment. We anticipate no impact for client-facing systems.

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening, we will be installing January 2023 Microsoft patches/updates to our test collection of 6 computers in Computing Services. Although these updates will force a restart for these machines, we anticipate no impact for client-facing systems.

Computing Services Maintenance for early next week (12/19-20)

Early next week, Computing Services will perform several maintenance tasks that are required for our various systems. See below for details:

***Computing Services Maintenance for Monday, 12/19/22***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST on Monday, 12/19, we will be migrating our web print server. During this migration, users will not be able to use the web-print function for ~3 hours while the maintenance is performed.

***Computing Services Maintenance for Tuesday, 12/20/22***

Beginning at 5:00 PM MST next Tuesday evening, 12/20, Computing Services will be updating CLEAN Address in the Banner Production environment. While this update will slightly affect the Banner Admin page, Banner Self-Service will not be impacted and no downtime is expected.

Also on Tuesday evening, but beginning at 9:00 PM MST, we will be upgrading PaperCut. During this upgrade, all print services will be down for ~3 hours while the maintenance is performed.

Computing Services has several maintenance items on the schedule for tomorrow evening. See below for details:

***Banner PROD Downtime and CS Maintenance for Thursday, 11/17/22***

Beginning at 5:00 PM MST Thursday evening, 11/17, and lasting until 5:30 PM, Computing Services will be updating CLEAN Address in the Banner Production environment and adding it to the Banner Self-Service environment. While this work is performed, we expect a minimal downtime (less than 5 minutes) for Banner Self-Service and no downtime for staff unless entering or modifying an address on the Banner Admin page during this half-hour window.

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST and lasting until approximately 5:00 AM Friday morning, the Banner Production environment will be unavailable while Oracle PSU security updates are deployed. During this time, ALL Banner PROD services will be unavailable, including Banner Admin, Self-Service, Web-Services, and School Services, etc.
