Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 3/23/23

Beginning at 5:30 PM MST, Thursday evening, we will be disabling and uninstalling CLEAN Address from the Banner Production environment. During this work, users will experience a brief interruption (~15 minutes) to AppNav services as the work is performed. 

Also on Thursday evening, but beginning at 9:00 PM MST, we will be:

  • Installing March updates on all Windows production servers. During the installation of these updates, users will experience intermittent outages (5-15 minutes) and brief interruptions to network services as systems reboot.
  • Performing back-end maintenance on various back-end servers. No user interruptions are anticipated.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 3/16/23

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST this evening, we will be installing February and March Microsoft Windows updates to all Windows-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers. These patches will force a reboot, so please log off and leave your computers on at the end of your work day today to assist with installation.

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MST, we will be installing March updates on all Windows production servers. During the installation of these updates, users will experience intermittent outages (5-15 minutes) and brief interruptions to network services as systems reboot.

Workday Downtime Friday PM through Saturday AM (March 10-11)

Due to planned maintenance related to the 2023R1 Feature Release, Workday tenants will be unavailable as follows:

  • Production tenants will be unavailable for a maximum of 3 hours from Friday, March 10th, 12:00 AM midnight MST to Saturday, March 11th at 3:00 AM MST. 
  • Sandbox, Sandbox Preview, and Implementation tenants will be unavailable for a maximum of 12 hours beginning Friday, March 10th at 7:00 PM MST to Saturday, March 11th at 7:00 AM MST.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 3/9/23

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening, Computing Services will be migrating the server that hosts the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) (the system that is used to push all Windows updates, software updates, and new applications) and JAMF (our Apple device management system). We expect this maintenance to take ~1 hour to complete and anticipate no impact to users outside of Computing Services while the maintenance is performed.

Banner PROD Available: FinAid Updates Complete 3/4/23

The Banner Financial Aid Updates have been deployed to the production environment this morning, March 4th 2023. The Banner Admin and Self-Service applications are available at this time.

Banner PROD Downtime & CS Maintenance this week (Feb 16-18)

Computing Services has several maintenance items on the schedule for this week. See below for details:

***Banner PROD Downtime and CS Maintenance for Thursday, 2/16/23***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening and lasting until approximately 5:00 AM Friday morning, the Banner Production environment will be unavailable while Oracle PSU security updates are deployed. During this time, ALL Banner PROD services will be unavailable, including Banner Admin, Self-Service, Web-Services, and School Services, etc.

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening, Computing Services will be installing February 2023 Microsoft patches/updates to our test systems for future deployment. We anticipate no impact for client-facing systems.

Brief wifi outage as part of Computing Services Maintenance for this week (2/9-10)

***Campus Wifi Maintenance – late Thursday, 2/9 through early Friday, 2/10*** 

Beginning at 12:00 midnight MST Thursday evening, 2/9, and lasting until 7:00 AM MST Friday morning, 2/10, Wifi users will experience a brief interruption to wifi services. Each of the campus wireless access points (AP) will experience a brief outage (5-10 minutes) as part of the upgrade process to our Aruba wireless system, but should automatically reconnect once the AP restarts. 

If you experience issues connecting to wifi on Friday morning, please reboot your devices as a first step. If you still have trouble connecting, please contact the ASU Computing Services Helpdesk at (719) 587-7741 or contact us via email at computingservices@adams.edu.
