November 14th, 2013 — Maintenance Announcements
A small number of students who have older Playstation 3s on campus reported having issues connecting to the ASU wireless network. Computing Services is pleased to say that we believe we have resolved this issue. If you have an older PS3 and are still having trouble getting it connected to asuwifi, please contact the ASU Computing Services Helpdesk at x7741 or via email at computingservices@adams.edu

November 14th, 2013 — Maintenance Announcements
The following maintenance activities will take place tonight, Thursday November 14th, 2013 during our normally scheduled maintenance window beginning at 9:00 PM:
Employee and TEC Classroom computers will receive critical security patches for Firefox, Windows, and Office beginning at 9:00 PM. Employees are encouraged to log out and leave their computers on when leaving for the day. This will enable these updates to run overnight and minimize any impact to our users.
Also beginning at 9:00 PM and lasting roughly 3 hours, all Banner systems will be temporarily unavailable due to a required upgrade to the campus VMWare storage upgrade.
Lastly, beginning at 9:00 PM there will be very brief reboots to various campus web and networking services as CS installs critical security and Windows updates to our campus servers.

This year is the 10th Anniversary of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM)!
NCSAM is a broad effort by government, industry, and education to help everyone stay safe and secure online. Adams State University is one of the partner champions for the campaign!
STOP.THINK.CONNECT is the national cyber security education and awareness campaign.
This October, you will see several posters around campus discussing NCSAM and ways that students and employees can help protect themselves, others, and the university while online. Computing Services will also be sending out several emails discussing ways to stay safe online.

September 19th, 2013 — Maintenance Announcements
The following maintenance activities will take place Thursday September 19, 2013 during our normally scheduled maintenance window beginning tonight at 9:00 PM and also Saturday, September 21st:
***Thursday Maintenance***
At 9:00 PM and lasting roughly one hour, we will be upgrading the campus wireless Aruba controller system to add additional licensing. During this time, all wireless networking services on campus will be down and inaccessible. Students may go to either the SUB or McDaniel Hall 24-hour computer labs if network access is critical during this time.
Also at 9:00, we will be updating the firmware on several campus network switches including many switches in the Residence Halls and one switch in Richardson Hall. There will be various outages to each of these locations beginning at 9:00 PM and should be completed no later than midnight.
Employee and TEC Classroom computers will receive critical security patches for Windows, Flash, Adobe Reader, and Shockwave beginning at 9 PM. Employees are encouraged to log out and leave their computers on when leaving for the day. This will enable these updates to run overnight and minimize any impact to our users.
Finally, at 9:00 PM, Self-Service Banner will be down for roughly 3 hours while we perform maintenance on this system. During this time, students will not be able to use School Services.
***Saturday Maintenance***
Beginning at 8:00 AM and lasting until roughly 1:00 PM, all Banner services will be unavailable while we perform several upgrades to the Banner Financial Aid module, Payroll, Finance and other modules.
