Banner & Degree Works Downtime for July and CS Maintenance this Thursday, 7/18

***Banner PROD & Degree Works Downtime in July***

Oracle PSU updates are scheduled to be deployed to our Banner and Degree Works environments at various points during the next few weeks as follows:

  • Banner DEVL will be unavailable for ~10 hours beginning Thursday, July 18th, at 9:00 PM MT to Friday, July 19th at 7:00 AM MT. We expect no impact to users outside of Computing Services.
  • Banner QA will be unavailable for ~10 hours beginning next Tuesday, July 23rd, at 9:00 PM MT to Wednesday, July 24th at 7:00 AM MT.
  • Banner PROD will be unavailable for ~10 hours beginning Thursday, July 25th, at 9:00 PM MT to Friday, July 26th at 7:00 AM MT. During this time, ALL Banner PROD services will be unavailable, including Banner Admin, Self-Service, Web-Services, and School Services, etc.
  • Degree Works PROD will be unavailable for ~11 hours beginning Sunday, July 28th, at 11:00 AM MT to Monday, July 29th, at 7:00 AM MT. During this time, ALL Degree Works services will be inaccessible.

***Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 7/18***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MT Thursday evening, we will be installing July Microsoft Windows updates to all Windows-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers. These patches will force a reboot, so please log off and leave your computers on at the end of your work day Thursday to assist with installation.

Also, beginning at 9:00 PM MT Thursday evening, we will be installing July updates on all Windows production servers. During the installation of these updates, users will experience intermittent outages (5-15 minutes) and brief interruptions to network services as systems reboot.

Workday, Banner, DegreeWorks Downtime and CS Maintenance for this week (July 11-13)

***Banner and DegreeWorks Downtime and Maintenance for Thursday, 7/11***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MT on Thursday, 7/11, we will be performing back-end maintenance on the Banner and DegreeWorks DB servers. Both services will be unavailable for approximately 1 hour while this work is being performed. 

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MT Thursday evening, we will be installing July 2024 Microsoft patches/updates to our test systems for future deployment. We anticipate no impact for client-facing systems.

***Workday Downtime for Friday, 7/12 through Saturday, 7/13***

Due to quarterly planned maintenance, non-production Workday tenants will be unavailable this week as follows:

  • Sandbox, Sandbox Preview, and Implementation tenants will be unavailable for a maximum of 16 hours beginning Friday, July 12th at 7:00 PM MT to Saturday, July 13th at 11:00 AM MT.

Workday Downtime and CS Maintenance this week/weekend (June 27-29)

***Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 6/27***

We will be performing several back-end system maintenance activities this Thursday and Friday. On Thursday from 1:00 PM until approximately 4:00 PM, we will be migrating our internal mail relay which will temporarily disable the ABM system, as well as Banner CRON notifications and job submission completion emails. Please note that CRONS and job submission will still function, and reports can be found in the shared drives, only the email notifications will be impacted. 

On Thursday night, there will be brief interruptions to ASUWifi from 9 PM until approximately midnight.

***Workday Downtime for Friday, 6/28 through Saturday, 6/29***

Due to regular weekly maintenance, Workday tenants will be unavailable as follows:

  • Production tenants will be unavailable for a maximum of 3 hours beginning Friday, June 28th at 12:00 AM MT to Saturday, June 29th at 3:00 AM MT.
  • Non-Production tenants will be unavailable for a maximum of 12 hours beginning Friday, June 28th at 5:00 PM MT to Saturday, June 29th at 5:00 AM MT.

Beginning at 9:00 PM MT Thursday evening, we will be installing updates to all MacOS-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers. These patches will force a reboot, so please log off and leave your computers on at the end of your work day Thursday to assist with installation.

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MT on Thursday evening, we will be migrating the Banner print server. Although Banner services will still be available, Banner printing will be unavailable for ~15 to 30 minutes while this migration is performed.

***Workday Downtime for Friday, 5/31 through Saturday, 6/1***

Due to regular weekly planned maintenance, the Workday tenants will be unavailable as follows:

  • The Production tenant will be unavailable for a maximum of 3 hours beginning Friday, May 31st at 12:00 AM MT to Saturday, June 1st at 3:00 AM MT.
  • Non-Production tenants will be unavailable for a maximum of 12 hours beginning Friday, May 31st at 5:00 PM MT to Saturday, June 1st at 5:00 AM MT.

Workday Downtime and CS Maintenance this week/weekend (May 22-25)

***Computing Services Maintenance for Wednesday, 5/22***

Beginning at 7:00 PM MT this evening, we will be upgrading the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), the system used to push all Windows updates, software updates, and new applications. We anticipate this maintenance to take ~3 hours to complete and expect no impact to users outside of Computing Services while the maintenance is performed.

***Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 5/23***

Beginning at 4:00 PM MT on Thursday afternoon, we will be shutting down the Banner print server to perform back-end maintenance. Although Banner services will still be available, Banner printing will be unavailable until the server is restarted Friday morning at 7:00 AM MT.

Then starting at 9:00 PM MT on Thursday, we will be:

  • Installing Microsoft Windows updates to all Windows-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers. These patches will force a reboot, so please log off and leave your computers on at the end of your work day Thursday to assist with installation.
  • Installing May updates on all Windows production servers. During the installation of these updates, users will experience intermittent outages (5-15 minutes) and brief interruptions to network services as systems reboot.

***Workday Downtime for Friday, 5/24 through Saturday, 5/25***

Due to regular weekly planned maintenance, the Workday tenants will be unavailable as follows:

  • The Production tenant will be unavailable for a maximum of 3 hours beginning Friday, May 24th at 12:00 AM MT to Saturday, May 25th at 3:00 AM MT.
  • Non-Production tenants will be unavailable for a maximum of 12 hours beginning Friday, May 24th at 5:00 PM MT to Saturday, May 25th at 5:00 AM MT.
  • Additionally, the Sandbox tenant will not be refreshed on Friday, May 24th.

Beginning at 9:00 PM MT Thursday evening, the Banner production environment will be unavailable until approximately 2:00 AM MT Friday morning while Oracle PSU updates are deployed. During this time, ALL Banner PROD services will be unavailable, including Banner Admin, Self-Service, Web-Services, and School Services, etc.
