Starting at 5:00 PM MST tomorrow, Thursday 7/7, Computing Services will be performing an upgrade on the CleanAddress system within Banner. No impact is expected for our campus users.

This Saturday (7/9) beginning at 8:00 AM and lasting until roughly 5:00 PM, Computing Services will be upgrading the DegreeWorks PROD system to version 5.0.7.1. During this time, the DegreeWorks system will be offline and unavailable.

At 5:00 AM tomorrow, Thursday 6/30, one of the campus Internet links will be offline for roughly 30 minutes, as Jade communications upgrades their router. Also, at 9:00 PM, Computing Services will be performing internal testing on our Jade Internet connection. No downtime is anticipated, as ASU has two live Internet connections, allowing work to be performed on one link without disruption to Internet services for our campus users.

Beginning at 7:00 PM MST Thursday evening, 6/30, Computing Services will be upgrading the Xtender server system. This upgrade will take roughly 3-4 hours to complete, at which time, Xtender will not be available. Since the time of the upgrade is after business hours, the impact should be minimal.

***Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 6/23/22***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening, 6/23, Computing Services will be installing June Microsoft Windows updates to all Windows-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers. These patches will force a reboot, so please log off and leave your computers on at the end of your work day Thursday to assist with installation.

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MST on Thursday, we will be installing June updates and performing other maintenance tasks on all Windows production servers. During this maintenance, users will experience intermittent outages (5-15 minutes) and brief interruptions to network services as systems reboot.

***AppXtender PROD Unavailable Saturday, 6/18/22***

Beginning at 7:00 AM MST Saturday morning until approximately 10:00 AM, Computing Services will be updating AppXtender PROD. Although AppXtender will be unavailable during this ~3 hour period while the maintenance is performed, we anticipate no impact for client-facing systems.

This week, Computing Services will be performing several maintenance tasks required for various systems. See below for details:

***Computing Services Maintenance for Wednesday, 6/8/22***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST, Wednesday, 6/8, Computing Services will be upgrading the Campus Logic Scholarship Universe server. We anticipate ~5 hours of downtime to the system as this work is performed.

***Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 6/9/22***

At 7:30 AM MST, Thursday, 6/9, Computing Services will be installing security updates to the campus system GitLab. We anticipate no impact for client-facing systems.

Beginning at 9:00 PM Thursday evening, Computing Services will be updating the proxy and file servers and other back-end systems. While we expect no impact for client-facing systems, users may experience a brief period (5-10 minutes) of unavailability of most web services, including Banner 9, Self-Service, Web-Services, School Services, and DegreeWorks.

Now that Spring semester has ended and we are past our maintenance freeze, Computing Services will be performing several critical maintenance tasks that are required for our various systems. See below for details:

***Computing Services Maintenance for Wednesday, 5/18/22***

Beginning at 5:00 PM MST Wednesday evening, 5/18, Computing Services will be updating CLEAN Address in the Banner Production environment. While this update will slightly affect the Banner Admin page, Banner Self-Service will not be impacted and no downtime is expected.

***Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, 5/19/22***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST Thursday evening, 5/19, Computing Services will be installing May Microsoft Windows updates to all Windows-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers. Beginning at 12:00 AM MST on Friday, 5/20, we will be upgrading the campus SafeConnect system. We expect the SafeConnect system to be down for 2-3 hours (through approximately 2-3:00 AM MST) while the work is performed, with some users being unable to connect to the wireless network during this period.

***Banner PROD Downtime for Saturday, 5/21/22***

Beginning at 7:00 AM MST Saturday, 5/21, and lasting until approximately 12:00 PM, the Banner Production environment will be unavailable while 1st Quarter Updates are deployed. During this time, ALL Banner PROD services will be unavailable, including Banner Admin, Self-Service, Web-Services, and School Services, etc.

***Lumen Outage for Tuesday, 5/17/22***

Beginning at 3:00 PM MST next Tuesday, 5/17, and lasting approximately 1 hour, Lumen (formerly known as Centurylink) expects to perform an upgrade to our campus Internet link. ASU has two redundant Internet links, and expects no downtime as our second link will remain operational.

Beginning at 6:00 PM MST on Thursday evening and lasting approximately 2 hours, we will be upgrading the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), the system that is used to push all Windows updates, software updates, and new applications. We expect no impact to users outside of Computing Services while this maintenance is performed.

Also on Thursday evening, but beginning at 9:00 PM MST, we will be installing an updated license for the C-CURE Security and Building Management System. We expect no impact to users while this maintenance is performed.
