August 26th, 2010 — Maintenance Announcements
The following maintenance activity will be performed this Thursday, August 26th from 9 PM until Midnight:
- The file server (myfiles.adams.edu) will be down for approximately 3 hours in order to repair a corrupted partition beginning at 9 PM. During this time, access to home and shared directories will be unavailable.

July 29th, 2010 — Maintenance Announcements
The following maintenance activities will be performed after 9 PM this Thursday night:
- Banner web services including school services will be down for roughly 30 minutes due to a scheduled reboot.
- Email services to Faculty and Staff will be down from 9 PM until Midnight for a scheduled firmware upgrade.
- The photo server (srvphoto1) will be down for approximately 30 minutes for scheduled maintenance.
Voicemail outage Sunday, 8/1/2010:
- Voicemail services will be up and down Sunday during reconfiguration of the system. Services should be restored late Sunday.

July 21st, 2010 — Maintenance Announcements
- During our normally scheduled maintenance window, all network access and services will be temporarily unavailable between 9 PM and midnight this Thursday, July 22nd. Computing Services is performing scheduled maintenance and testing during this time on all critical services, so all major systems will be inaccessible during this time. If you experience any issues logging into your computer or other systems on Friday morning, please reboot your computer. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the ASC Computing Services Helpdesk at x7741.

July 9th, 2010 — Maintenance Announcements
The Banner database will be shutdown at 5:00 PM on Wednesday Jul 14 for approximately 5 hours. This is needed to install the new Touchnet online payment system.
School Services (Self Service Banner) will be down during this maintenance window. Additionally, the School Services links which allow students to view their accounts and make online payments will continue to be unavailable through much of the morning of Thursday July 15. This is necessary to ensure that students do not try to post payments before the business office can configure banner and verify its operation.
All banner users must be logged out of Banner, and their processes must be COMPLETED by 5:00 PM on Wednesday. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

June 24th, 2010 — Maintenance Announcements
The following maintenance activity will take place this Thursday, June 24th beginning at 9 PM.
- The ASC File Server will be taken down for a full back-up beginning at 9 PM and lasting until roughly 10:30 PM. This outage will affect access to home and shared directories.
- This Saturday, June 26th, the File Server will be down from 10 AM until roughly 2 PM for a system upgrade. Again, access to home and shared drives will be down during this time.

June 17th, 2010 — Maintenance Announcements
The following scheduled maintenance activities will take place tonight, Thursday June 17th beginning at 9 PM.
- Wireless services on campus will be down for maintenance from 9 PM until roughly 2 AM. Wireless Internet access will be down during this time. Also, wireless maintenance is scheduled for next Thursday, June 24th as well.
- The file server will have maintenance performed with possible downtime from 9 PM until Midnight. Home and shared directories will be inaccessible during this time.
- The RT Helpdesk ticketing system will be down briefly after 9 PM for security patch installation.

The following maintenance activity will take place Thursday, June 3rd, beginning at 9:00 PM:
- All Production Banner Services will be unavailable from 9 PM for roughly 3 hours while security updates are installed on the systems.

May 26th, 2010 — Uncategorized
The following activities will take place this Thursday, May 27th after 9:00 PM:
-Critical and security patches from Microsoft will be pushed out to all employee,
lab and TEC Classrooms. If possible, please leave any employee computers turned on
when you leave work on Thursday in order to reduce the amount of interruption to
your work schedule.
Also scheduled for this weekend beginning promptly at 5 PM on Friday (5/28) is the
student email migration to GMail. Although this will not affect employee email
services, Computing Services wanted to inform all faculty and staff in the event
that a student inquires about the cut-over. Below is a copy of the message sent
to all current students:

Just a quick reminder that we will be shutting down the student email server this
weekend, as we complete the migration of all student email accounts to Google Apps.
The server will be inaccessible beginning at 5PM on Friday (5/28). Once your email
has been migrated, you will be able to access all of your messages and your
addressbook by logging into http://mail.grizzlies.adams.edu. With this change,
your email address will also change to username@grizzlies.adams.edu. We will
forward any incoming email to your new account for a few months, but you will
need to notify your contacts of your new address.
We appreciate your patience as we finish this migration, and please don't

April 22nd, 2010 — Maintenance Announcements
This Saturday, 24 Apr 2010, Computing Services will be transferring our school web services to a new server. This action is necessary to replace our aging web server, but also needed as part of the mandated Payment Card Industry changes scheduled to begin at the end of May. It is anticipated that school services (One stop, Self Service Banner) will be unavailable for about 1 – 1.5 hours starting at 9 AM on Saturday.
Following that change, banner will be updated with the new financial aid releases. Banner will be down for about 2.5 hours for that upgrade. So total down time will be from 9AM until approximately 1PM.

April 1st, 2010 — Maintenance Announcements
The following maintenance activities will occur beginning at 9PM:
- Employee, Lab and TEC Classroom computers will receive the newest critical security updates from Microsoft. Employees are advised to leave their computers on overnight to facilitate the installation process.
- Employee computers will receive an upgrade to the help.adams.edu calling card, which will streamline the process for receiving remote computer support from Computing Services.
