Computing Services Maintenance for December 10th, 2009
December 10th, 2009 — Maintenance Announcements
- An upgrade to the Email Barracuda system will take place. Estimated email system downtime is 15-30 minutes.
- Banner Xtender will be down for roughly 2 hours due to storage issue troubleshooting.
- All maintenance begins after 9:00 PM unless otherwise stated.

December 2nd, 2009 — Maintenance Announcements
- XServe maintenance will occur shortly after 5 P.M. There should be no noticeable service interruptions.
- Migration of all Employee email and web storage to the SAN will begin after 9:00 P.M. Employee email estimated downtime is 4 hours.
- Banner Xtender and the Banner forms server will be down for up to 2 hours for maintenance.
- Lab, TEC Classroom and Employee PCs will receive updates to the Adobe Shockwave player after 9:00 P.M. No noticeable service interruptions are expected.
- All maintenance begins after 9:00 PM unless otherwise stated.
Computing Services Maintenance for November 19, 2009
November 17th, 2009 — Maintenance Announcements
- Adobe Flash Player will be upgraded to version 10.0.32.18 for all Employee, Lab and TEC Classroom PCs.
- Employee Email server will be down for roughly 30 minutes while a Network Interface Card is swapped out. Employee email services will be down during this time.
- Windows Servers will receive critical security patches, estimated downtime is 30 minutes. Student and employee printing will be down during this time.
- VMWare storage upgrade will occur. Banner forms will be down for a few hours during this period.
- XServe server will receive an OS upgrade beginning shortly after 5:oo PM. No end-user service interruption should occur.
- All maintenance begins after 9:00 PM unless otherwise stated.

November 11th, 2009 — Maintenance Announcements
- The campus print server will be down for roughly 30 minutes while memory testing is performed. Printing will be down throughout campus during this time.
- All maintenance is performed after 9:00 PM.
Computing Services Maintenance for October 29th – evening maintenance
October 27th, 2009 — Maintenance Announcements
- Banner Web will be down for 20-30 minutes while the ongoing SSL certificate for the web issue is resolved.
- VMWare maintenance will be performed, includes Banner print server and forms server. Estimated downtime is 2-3 hours.
- Employee Email- Various employee email accounts will be moved by Logan in order to resolve some storage issues. Individual accounts will be affected intermittently, and overall email performance will suffer during this time.
- Labs, TEC Classrooms and Employee computers will receive October’s Critical and Security packages through SCCM. Employees will need to leave their computers on again to facilitate the update process during off-hours.
- All maintenance will begin after 9:00 PM

This Thursday, Computing Services will be changing the login authentication process for Self Service Banner (School Services) and banner related One-Stop services. Computing Services Maintenance for October 22nd, 2009
October 20th, 2009 — Maintenance Announcements
- DHCP changes will be put into effect that remove previously statically assigned IP addresses to all Employee workstations. There should not be any impact, however a reboot on Friday morning will clear up any potential issues.
- The Aruba Wireless controller will be upgraded which will temporarily interrupt wireless service to the campus. Expected downtime is less than 30 minutes.
- The Bannerweb SSL certificate will be installed, downtime for Banner Web should be around 30 minutes. Also the VMWare storage mirroring installation will be done.
- Microsoft Office 2007 security updates will be installed with SCCM after 10:00 PM. A reboot may be required, but will only occur during our maintenance windows.
All maintenance occurs after 9:00 PM.
Computing Services Maintenance for October 15th, 2009
October 14th, 2009 — Maintenance Announcements
- One of the redundant Barracuda Email servers will be down after 9:00 PM for a short period for memory testing. Email for the campus will continue to function, but may be slightly slower during this time.
- Microsoft Office 2007 Security Updates will begin installing in the TEC Classrooms and Labs after 9:00 PM, however no downtime should result from the installation.
