Campus Wifi repair status, and this week’s Computing Services maintenance

***Campus Wifi Update***

First, we want to thank everyone who has reported issues with wifi in the last few weeks. We greatly appreciate your patience, and apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused. Our system has continued to have intermittent outages due to the unsuccessful upgrade attempted on our wireless controllers on 1/26 by our support vendor. We have continued to escalate the problem, and have been working with additional vendors to resolve the issue.

Next week, beginning on Monday, 2/21, we will be working with our vendor to rebuild and upgrade our wireless controllers. As part of this process, wifi users may experience brief interruptions to service, but should automatically reconnect once the system has restarted. More details will be provided next week as the project progresses.

***Maintenance Activities for Thursday, 2/17/22***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST this evening, 2/17, Computing Services will be installing February Microsoft Windows updates to all Windows-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers. These patches will force a reboot, so please log off and leave your computers on at the end of your work day Thursday to assist with installation.

Also beginning at 9:00 PM MST, we will be installing February updates on all Windows production servers. During the installation of these updates, users will experience intermittent outages (5-15 minutes) and brief interruptions to network services as systems reboot.

Computing Services thanks you for your patience and understanding as we perform these critical maintenance activities. If you have any questions, please call the ASU Computing Services Helpdesk at (719) 587-7741 or contact us via email at computingservices@adams.edu.

Have a great day,

Computing Services
