Computing Services Maintenance this week (2/18-19)

This week, Computing Services will be performing several critical maintenance tasks that are required for our various systems. See below for details.

***Maintenance Activities for Thursday, 2/18/21***

Beginning at 9:00 PM MST tomorrow evening (Thursday, 2/18), Computing Services will be performing the following maintenance activities:

–Installing Microsoft Windows patches to all Windows-based systems, including employee, lab and TEC Classroom computers, even ASU-owned computers being used by employees at home. These patches will force a reboot, so please log off and leave your computers on at the end of your work day tomorrow to assist with installation.

–Installing February Microsoft updates on all Windows production servers. Throughout this time, users will experience intermittent outages (5-15 minutes) and brief interruptions to network services as systems reboot.

–Installing security updates to the campus system GitLab. We anticipate no impact for client-facing systems.

***Maintenance Activities for Friday, 2/19/21***

Beginning at 5:00 AM MST on Friday morning, we will be moving the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) for our campus telephone system to new servers. We expect the campus telephone system — including voicemail, fax, and the ability to make 911 emergency calls — to be down for approximately 1 hour as we make this move. During this time, if you need to make a call, please use a cell phone if available.

Computing Services thanks you for your patience and understanding as we perform these critical maintenance activities. As always, if you have any questions, please call the ASU Computing Services Helpdesk at (719) 587-7741 or contact us via email at computingservices@adams.edu.

Have a great day,

Computing Services
