From August 2011 to July 2012, The Food Bank Network served a total of 11,358 families, 10,146 men, 10,066 women and 13,922 children. Concluding with serving 11,358 households and providing 307,247 meals.
This coming holiday season, the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley needs your support as you prepare for Thanksgiving break. Consider setting aside one Sunday to benefit a great cause before you head home to eat food and give thanks with your families. Help the students enrolled in Sports Facility and Event Management class at Adams State University, along with La Puente raise funds and donations for the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley through participating Monster Mash 5K!
The Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley would greatly benefit from your participation in the 4th annual Monster Mash Dash 5K. On Sunday, October
28th wander to Cole Park near the main pavilion off of First Street and register for Monster Mash Dash 5K, registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and the race starts promptly at 1 p.m.. Come walk or run in your best Halloween costume to participate in our best costume contest. Participate in a new contest this year called, Beat the Bear contest. All participants who Beat the Bear will  receive a free grizzlies t-shirt!
One-hundred percent of the proceeds for Monster Mash Dash 5K will benefit the San Luis Valley Network for the upcoming holiday seasons. Entry registration fees will apply as follows:
All children ten years of age or younger are free, Students- $15, and Adults $20.
To waive the entry fee, you may bring fifteen of the following items. Thanksgiving foods, eggs, produce of any kind, rice, tomato product(i.e. diced, sauce), canned corn, cereal, peanut butter, tuna, pasta, macaroni and cheese, soup, baby formula, or soup.
Keep in mind, we will not accept out of date food items! All participants may bring canned or nonperishable items to aide the San Luis Valley Food Bank Network.
The course will begin near the main pavilion in Cole Park aligning along Alamosa’s scenic trails with only one mile tracing the road. Monster Mash Dash 5K t-shirts will be on sale the day of the race for $3 each.
