Despite being off since Mar. 27, the Adams State College women’s golf team has moved up to seventh in this week’s NCAA Division II Central Region Rankings, released Thursday.  The ranking is the highest in the Grizzlies’ history and has them in good shape to qualify for the regional tournament, to be contested May 1-3 in St. Paul, Minn., by the top nine teams in the regional rankings at that point.
The Grizzlies had been ranked eighth in the initial set of rankings, released a week ago on Mar. 31.
Another set of rankings will be announced next Thursday and then the selections will be made on Apr. 25 just days after the Apr. 18-19 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, which is the Grizzlies’ only remaining regular season tournament of the season.
The top of the rankings was unchanged as Augustana (S.D.) continues to hold down the top spot ahead of RMAC leader Western New Mexico.  Concordia-St. Paul, which will host the regional tournament, continues to be ranked third while Minnesota State remained ranked fourth.
