The food that we consume doesn’t only represent an inseparable and incredibly important part of our physical health but also influences our emotional state. This in turn determines our whole mood throughout a certain period of time. If you feel under some stress, frustration, or depression, this article will show you some foods that might be able to help.
Milk and Yogurt  – As one of the best sources of Calcium, these products extensively help the organism in recovering from stress. The other important benefit for the body that they bring is the high concentration of an amino-acid called tryptophan, which deals with improving the quality of a person’s sleep and their general mood.
Soy – We all know that soy is rich in, proteins, which are essential for the human body. What most people don’t know though is that it is also rich in antioxidants, which are of significant importance for brain health. The antioxidants also correct the chemical misbalance in our bodies, which is one of the primary reasons linked to sudden changes in mood and depression. It has also been scientifically proven that the higher consumption of soy products leads to memory improvements.
Leafy vegetables (Spinach, Lettuce, broccoli) – You can’t expect to be happy if you have low levels of folic acid in your organism. Folic acid deficiency has been medically linked with clinical depression, fatigue, and memory problems. All of these elements can directly influence our mood and lead to an emotional exhaustion.
Legumes (lentils, chickpeas, beans) – They are a great source of proteins, carbohydrates, and fiber. These 3 representatives of the legumes have the already discussed really important amino-acid, folic acid, as well as a lot of calcium, magnesium, and zinc. All of these minerals and amino-acids link directly to the levels of the neurotransmitters like serotonin, which is the main determinant of our mood. The more serotonin in our bodies, the better our mood will be.
