Fall Choir Concert

The fall choir concert will be on Friday, Oct 30 in Richardson Hall at 8:00 p.m. This concert will include the 23 member chamber choir, and the 50 member concert choir. The concert will be directed by Dr. Beth Wagstrom.

The chamber choir will open the concert with an early American song, “Star in East”, by Daniel Read. Other pieces include “Sleep” by Eric Whitacre, the French piece “En Une Seule Fleur” by Morten Lauridsen, “Thou Art in Every Breathe I take” by Kevin Oldham, “The Road Home” arranged by Stephen Paulus, and “Pseudo-Yoik” by Gaakko Mantyjarvi.

After the intermission the concert choir will perform their pieces. They are opening with “He Watching over Israel” from Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio “Elijah” in observance of the 200 year anniversary of his birth. The rest of the concert will be “I am in Need of Music” by David Brunner, “Jamaican Medley” by Paul Tucker (featuring members from the percussion studio), “Requiem” by Eliza Gilkyson and arranged by Craig Hella Johnson (written in memory of the 2004 Tsunami victims), and “Dan-U-El” by Kirke, featuring Dan Kenealy.

Tickets are free to AS&F and friends of music, $5 for adults, and $1 for students.
