Beeman will Perform Her First Faculty Recital on November 6

ALAMOSA (October 39) –Dr. Shellie Beeman, Adams State University assistant professor of music, will perform her first Adams State faculty recital at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, in Leon Memorial Hall. Beeman, a lyric soprano, will be accompanied by Dr. William Lipke. She will perform a mixture of classical, theatre, folk songs, and classical jazz; by composers including Rossini, Rachmaninoff, Faure, Niles, Hundley, Charles, Copland, and Gershwin.   Beeman completed her D.A. in voice performance with a secondary emphasis in speech-language pathology at Ball State University in 2014. She has enjoyed performing the roles of Adina from Elixir or Love, Dew Fairy from  Hansel and Gretel, Maddalena from Andrea Chenier, Lauretta from Gianni Schicchi, Tuptim from King and I, Widow Corney from Oliver!, and Irene from Hello Dolly!, as well as performing in solo concert and opera choruses. Beeman holds a CMVT certification (McClosky Certification of Voice Science) which allows her to collaborate with a voice care team in order to aid in the rehabilitation process of singers with voice disorders.

She is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, NAfME, College Music Society, and Classical Singer.

The recital is free to AS&F and Friends of Music. Tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for students and seniors.
