It is recommended that athletes take yoga, as it will help improve strength, balance, flexibility, range of motion, and mental control. Breathing techniques learned in practicing yoga help improve oxygen flow and concentration. These improvements also decrease the risk of injury. Many professional athletes participate in yoga for its many benefits.

Yoga classes are not always the cheapest. But having an instructor helps you make sure you are doing the stretches and poses the right way. Fortunately, you are in luck. Yoga is available to the students at Adams State University! It is practiced in the Rex Aerobics room every Monday and Wednesday from 12pm to 1pm, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7am to 8am. This yoga class specifically focuses on physical posture with an associated emphasis on breathing techniques. The practice works on creating flowing sequences and static holding.

Yoga is practiced by people of all ages for the wellness of the mind and body. If you decide to try yoga, an important thing to remember is to g. Yoga is not a completion exercise, so forcing your body into positions it is not used to could cause strain to the muscles.
