Banner Upgrade Info and CS Maintenance for week of 11/15/2010.

Below is the list of maintenance activities for this week:

  • Thursday night beginning at 9 PM – All Employee, Lab and TEC Classroom computers will receive critical Windows and Office Security Updates.
  • Various Server systems will be rebooted and unavailable for roughly 15 minutes beginning at 9 PM including the Print Server, CS Helpdesk Server, and a few non-production Banner Servers.

BANNER UPGRADE THIS WEEKEND

  • All production Banner services will be unavailable this weekend due to the Point Release upgrade of Banner to version 8.3. Banner will go down early Saturday morning and is anticipated to be back up sometime Sunday evening.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, November 11th, 2010

The following maintenance activities will take place beginning at 9 PM:

  • Various administrative systems such as LDAP, Web Database, Blogs, and Email systems will be rebooted for routine maintenance. Anticipated downtime is roughly 1 hour.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, October 28th, 2010

The following maintenance activities will take place this Thursday, 10/28.

  • The Banner interface (INB) will be down after 6 PM for security updates.
  • The Banner system will be briefly unavailable at 9 PM while the server is rebooted for maintenance.
  • Active Directory will be temporarily unavailable from 9 PM until 10 PM for routine maintenance. This will prevent logins to the labs during this time.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, October 21st, 2010

The following maintenance activities will take place beginning at 9 PM:

  • Employee email services will be temporarily down for about an hour as we replace one of  our UPS battery back-up systems in our data center.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, October 7th, 2010

The following maintenance activities will take place this Thursday beginning at 9 PM:

  • The Banner Databases and Banner Web services will be unavailable from approximately 9 PM until 11 PM for maintenance.
  • Employee and TEC Classroom computers will receive a small program to assist Computing Services with general administration. No noticeable impact is expected.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, September 23, 2010

The following maintenance activities will be performed during the normal weekly maintenance window:

  • Employee, Lab and TEC Classroom computers will receive critical Windows security patches. All employees are encouraged to leave their computers turned on when they leave work on Thursday afternoon.
  • Email services for Employees will be down temporarily as a firmware upgrade is completed on the Barracuda servers. Estimated downtime is from 9 PM until 10 PM.
  • A reboot of several servers such as LDAP, Portal, and the One Stop will be performed at roughly 9 PM. No noticeable outages should occur.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, September 16th, 2010

The following maintenance activities will take place this Thursday, beginning at 9 PM during our normally scheduled maintenance window:

  • All network services will be briefly interrupted for approximately one hour while we install critical security patches on the systems. This will affect all network services including labs, wireless, faculty and staff access during this time.
  • The Banner forms server and Banner web server will be down briefly for routine maintenance beginning at 9 PM and lasting until roughly Midnight.

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, September 9th, 2010

The following maintenance activities will take place beginning at 9 PM:

  • Banner Access and School Services will be unavailable while updates are installed for the Financial Aid Module. This will begin around 9 PM and last for approximately 1 hour.

Maintenance Activity for Thursday, August 26th, 2010

The following maintenance activity will be performed this Thursday, August 26th from 9 PM until Midnight:

  • The file server (myfiles.adams.edu) will be down for approximately 3 hours in order to repair a corrupted partition beginning at 9 PM. During this time, access to home and shared directories will be unavailable.

Computing Services Maintenance and Voicemail Scheduled Outage 7/29 and 8/1

The following maintenance activities will be performed after 9 PM this Thursday night:

  • Banner web services including school services will be down for roughly 30 minutes due to a scheduled reboot.
  • Email services to Faculty and Staff will be down from 9 PM until  Midnight for a scheduled firmware upgrade.
  • The photo server (srvphoto1) will be down for approximately 30 minutes for scheduled maintenance.

Voicemail outage Sunday, 8/1/2010:

  • Voicemail services will be up and down Sunday during reconfiguration of the system. Services should be restored late Sunday.
