This year, GAB has a week full of events that will make you want to come back for more. The theme is “I love the 90’s,” in which all of the events are 90’s themed to get students, families and community members exited for the year ahead. Rebecca Rothkopf, an intern for GAB, said, “Homecoming is a celebration of the university so that students can get involved as well as the community members.” This year is the first year in which Adams State University will celebrate it becoming a University.
Students, Faculty, and Staff of Adams State, as well as the community members in Alamosa will be able to have fun and be safe. There are events that have been done in years past. For instance, the “medicine show”, which is the homecoming talent show. This show is where a whole bunch of groups and individuals can come and show off their talents and skills.
Along with the talent show, the biggest tradition during homecoming is the Homecoming Parade that people of every age can enjoy and see what all of the different activities and sports are going to be going on during the year.
There will be an event going on every day except for Friday during the week of homecoming. The home football game takes place after the parade on Saturday, but that is not all.

Monday, Oct. 8, there will be a drive in movie at Rex Stadium from 8 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9; students get to customize their homecoming gear that will be located in the Student Union Building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 10, there will be the Medicine show (Talent show) located at Richardson Hall from 6 to 10 p.m.

Thursday, Oct.11 will be announced during the week of homecoming.

Friday, Oct. 12, is the day that everyone who is in the parade can have a chance to work on their floats.

Oct. 13, GAB had three events going on that day. The first event is the Homecoming Parade located on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Right after the game, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. the Homecoming Social will be located in the Rex Center behind the Grizzly Bear.

The social is open to anyone who would like to come and have a great time with other students at Adams State. Homecoming week is going to be a blast for Student, Faculty, and Staff of Adams State University as well as Community members.
