Banner Downtime Information

Late last night and early this morning, the campus experienced unanticipated network outages to key network switches. Unfortunately, at roughly 10:15 AM, the switch that controls much of the Banner infrastructure was affected and took down Banner. We are working to restore services as quickly as possible, and will notify campus when all Banner services are restored. Our initial investigation indicates that this is a problem with the firmware provided by the vendor on these switches. We will keep the campus posted on the status as information becomes available. We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused, and appreciate your patience as we work through this issue.

Thank you,

Computing Services Maintenance for Thursday, May 17th, 2012

The following maintenance activities will take place beginning at 9 PM during our regularly scheduled maintenance window:

All Employee and TEC Classroom computers will receive upgrades to Windows and Office. Employees are encouraged to leave their computers turned on, but to log off when leaving work for the day. This will assist with the installation process and ensures that the process can run before employees return to work on Friday.

The Windows Servers will be rebooted after installing critical security patches. This will affect printing, file server home directories, and shared directories. Users should experience less than an hour of downtime.

The One Card server will experience an hour downtime while it undergoes normal maintenance.
