The Love Tank

How full is your love tank? This is a question for everyone regardless of what Valentine’s Day held. Love is not just about physical aspects and relationships, it is also about basic needs that every human heart has. It means feeling like you matter and that you are accepted.

If a person is needed, it can really change their outlook on life, how they view themselves, and how they view others. Some feel totally and completely adequate and loved. On a scale of 1-10 this would be considered a ten. Others feel they are unacceptable and unworthy of any sort of attention. This would be a zero.

How you view yourself can have an impact on the way you interact with family, friends, and significant others. It can virtually affect every area of your life and it will soon show in the choices you make and how successful you become. This should come as a challenge to everyone to think of where their heart is and what they might do to improve the status of their heart or “love tank.” It could mean taking steps in reaching out to others and in turn, this will benefit the giver. At Club ESRA (Education for Sexual Risk Avoidance), we believe love is really about what you can give more than what you can get.

If you’re feeling a little down, why not try reaching out to a friend or someone in need? You might be surprised at the results. It might just happen that your love tank has just gotten a refill.
