Skyhawks too much for Grizzly Women

Despite a school-record setting 16 saves from redshirt freshman goalie Desi Rae Aguirre, the first-year Adams State College women’s lacrosse team could not keep pace with the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks, who scored 14 first half goals while outshooting the Grizzlies, 48-3, en-route to a 20-1 Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association win, Saturday afternoon here at Ray Dennison Field.
The Skyhawks, who continue to set school-records, nearly completed their first ever shutout before Grizzly redshirt freshman Cydney Allbee broke it up with just 58 seconds left with her third goal of the season, an unassisted tally, which beat Genna Waugh, who had to make just one save in net for the Skyhawks.
The Grizzlies are still in search of their first win and are now 0-7 overall and 0-4 in WILA play.
