Doodads

Dear readers,
Have you ever had that moment when you realize how close you have come to death? I have had more than my fair share of that feeling. First was a school shooting/hostage situation back when I was in 7th grade, next was a tooth infection that almost spread to my brain overnight, and most recently the bomb on campus Saturday.
If you didn’t know already, there was a bomb on campus, safely deactivated by police of course. But I was right by the parking lot that it was in. All I could really think about for the past few days is what if… What if someone didn’t find it in time? What if it went off when I was right there?
The thought of death has always terrified us. We don’t exactly know what will happen on the other side, nobody does. We can believe that it’s a better place and most people do, but I would rather look at what this life has to offer.
What would you like to say to people if you knew how long you had to live? Who would you spend time with? Would you forgive those who scarred you? Life is far too short to be fighting and gossiping; you should fill it with love and compassion. Call your family, an old friend, or even that neighbor you always talked to, and remember to always overuse the words “I love you.”
Your friend,
Doodads

P.S. I would love to hear your thoughts on these questions. Let me know what you think.   asupawadvice@gmail.com
