College Checkered: Ever Wondered About Your Impact?

What do you actually contribute in this world? I worry rather than wonder most of the time. Mainly, it’s because I feel like if I haven’t impacted someone or something while being on this planet, regardless of my accomplishments, in someway I have failed some kind of purpose.
We all selfishly pursue our lives, which is our right, to better ourselves in all aspects. But sometimes along that road of me, me, me, me, we can forget that we can influence someone on the way, and all we have to do is just take the time for that. There’s one quote that I love most that Tupac used to say:
“I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world.”
We sometimes get it in our minds that we’re just this one tiny person in this giant world who probably will never have power to change the world in a single lifetime, so what’s the point in contributing, or, trying I should say. When realistically, we should have our minds set to be that spark instead. To contribute to someone else who might be the one to change the world, you know? Sort of like, a ripple effect. Eventually all the sparks will cause something to ignite, why not let it be positive?
It’s something to think about. Because me, as a person, I know I can’t change the world. As much as I’d love to be able to say I can take all the bad and replace it with the good, I can’t. But I would like to be able to part this world knowing I at least I contributed a spark in the right direction of change. I did… something.
