Adams State College cross country senior Kristen McGlynn, has been named as the ASCGrizzlies.com/Paw Print Athlete of the Week for week ending on Sept. 12.
McGlynn obliterated the course record as the nation’s top-ranked Grizzly women’s cross country team recorded a perfect-score of 15 to easily claim the team title at Saturday’s 17th annual Joe I. Vigil Open at Cattails Golf Course.
The 2009 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Runner of the Year successfully defended her meet title by an incredible 38 seconds, posted a time of 17 minutes, 1 second on the 5-kilometer course smashing the former 10-year old record of 17:22, set by previous Grizzly great Kim Bosen.
On Wednesday afternoon, McGlynn was named the RMAC Runner of the Week award, her third of her career.
McGlynn now has four wins in seven tries during her Grizzly career after transferring from Division I Baylor prior to the 2009 campaign.
