ASU Choirs to Perform at Sacred Heart Church

The Adams State University Chamber and Concert Choirs will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 in Sacred Heart Church, located in Alamosa, Colorado.

Chamber Choir will sing Morten Lauridsen’s Les Chansons des Roses, based on poems by Rainer Maria Rilke, as well as Eric Whitacre’s masterpiece, Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine, which delves into the dreaming mind of Leonardo da Vinci.

Concert Choir will also sing pieces by Eric Whitacre, including Animal Crackers II, whimsical settings based on the short poems of Ogden Nash. They will also perform a Latin-American inspired piece by Dan Davison, Counterpoint of the Animals by Italian Renaissance composer, Adriano Banchieri, and the rousing spiritual Go Where I Send Thee, arranged by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory.
