Some Adams State College students participated in speed dating on February 13. The student orientation staff sponsored the speed dating event.
This event was only two dollars and after this event was a dance that was free to the participants of the speed dating. But if a person was not a participant of this event but still wanted to go to the dance, the dance cost only three dollars. The New Student Orientation allowed participants to enter the dance for free.
During the speed-dating event, each student had one minute to talk to their date then it was time to switch. There were approximately 30 people in attendance for the hour long event.
Melissa Cossey, a student at Adams State College, said, “I liked the speed dating, but it could have been more time to interact with each of the dates. So instead of it being one minute, it could have been two minutes”. As this event was for Valentine’s Day, each person should have a Valentine.
All of the students had a great time dancing and seeing other people from around the campus. Leash, a student at Adams State College, said, “I was really worried at first but then when I saw that there were people coming, I felt more relaxed. Even though the music is not my kind of music, it was still good”.
The event was from 7 to 8 p.m. in one of the banquet rooms, then the dance which was in the loft was from 8 to 10 p.m. with free food. Everyone who attended the dance and the speed dating event got to meet a wide variety of people and some of the speed dating participants left the dance with their partners that they met during the event.
