Angel Di Maria: “I want to give Manchester United as much as all the other great players who wore the #7 jersey”

The most expensive player in the history of English football – Angel Di Maria, officially stated that he would want to have the impact in his new club that Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best, Eric Cantona, and all the other great players before him had. The Argentinian assured the media that he is not bothered or worried in any way by the record breaking amount that was spent for his signing – 59.7 million pounds.
The British giants from Manchester are going to be out of this year’s Championship league competition due to their poor performance in the EPL last season, finishing 7th in the 2013/2014 campaign. The team was truly struggling last year after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, and his successor, David Moyes, was unable to unite and lead the team as a manager in a way responding to “the red devils” expectations. That’s why the German manager and specialist, Louis Van Gaal, was brought in as a manager for this season and was also given a significant amount to target and sign world class players who can help United to get back in the EPL’s top 3 where it has always been. Van Gaal’s most bold and promising signing was that of the 26-year-old Argentinian midfielder, who is expected to bring to Manchester United what was missing last season – world-class performance.
Angel Di Maria came from the Spanish giants Real Madrid C.F. where he spent 4 years. Throughout his time in Madrid he managed to establish himself as one of the most influential players on the team. With his exceptional and consistent performance, Di Maria won the hearts of the fans and his teammates. Last season was by far the best season in Di Maria’s career, becoming the Top assists player in La Primera Division, Champions League, winning the Man of the match award for the Champions league final played in Lisbon and helping his national team reaching the World Cup 2014 final. The announcement of him leaving Madrid was unexpected and not well accepted by the fans and Di Maria’s former teammates. However, Angel said, at his official presentation with the Manchester United Jersey, that he has come to a great club that has won a lot of trophies in the past and that he has the desire to help “the red devils” to get back on top of the EPL and be again a main competitor for the UEFA Champions League title.
