Super Foods Can Help Students Like You

Every time the weather starts getting warmer and I want to be outside more, I tend to notice my weight. I have also noticed how bogged down I feel from the foods I am eating. I don’t think I’m alone; I researched super foods, ones that help us feel our best, and look our best! Here’s what I came up with.
Apples! Apples are a great snack, and as we all know, an apple a day can keep the doctor away. The antioxidants in apples help prevent our bodies from storing extra fat. Eggs are also on the list. Eggs can help us all trim inches. Eat more scrambled eggs, or omelets and you’ll lose inches.
Kale is another item on the list; this leafy green has tons of fiber, as well as iron and calcium! I hated eating oatmeal growing up but oats are very healthy.  Along with kale, they are packed with fiber so they keep you full. Blueberries are really good for you as well! They have the highest antioxidant level of all commonly consumed foods, with 3.6 grams of fiber in a cup.
Yogurt is good for you because of all the protein which can keep your blood sugar levels steady. I have never heard of tarragon before, but it’s an herb in place of salt and salad dressings. It has a sweet flavor that can be added to bland foods. Parmesan cheese has been proven to help keep off weight! Women who had one serving of whole milk or cheese daily were less likely to gain weight over time.
Avocadoes are heart healthy and increase satisfaction, so we can feel happy and full! Sardines are high in omega 3’s, which help the body maintain muscle; they’re also low in mercury and high in calcium, making them a smart pick!
I have tasted quinoa before and know it’s healthy for a person, but I don’t like the texture. Quinoa is great for curbing hunger and it’s packed with whole grains and fiber. This will keep you satisfied for hours!
Chiles are great for your metabolism. They have the capsaicin effect, meaning it causes the body to burn extra calories for 20 minutes after you’ve finished the Chile. Pomegranates are also great for your body. Pomegranate juice gets a lot of hype for being so healthy, but the seeds are just as good for you! They are loaded with disease-fighting antioxidants and low in calories so they’ll satisfy your sweet tooth without blowing your diet.
Buckwheat pasta is high in fiber and contains protein so it’s hard to overeat! Salmon also gets a huge rep for being a healthy option. Salmon is high in omega-3 fatty acids which help build muscle and decrease belly fat. Goji berries! These chewy, tart berries have a hunger-curbing edge over other fruit: 18 amino acids, which make them a surprising source of protein. Snack on them mid-afternoon to stay satisfied until dinner.
I hope this has helped you learn how to stay healthy and feel great!
