The Adams State University Theatre Program will be introducing the world premiere of two plays that will blow your mind. “Intimacy Issues,” directed by Katie Fuleki and Derek Chacon, will put you in the mindset of how relationships and heartache can intertwine with real life and virtual life. These shows are student written and directed here at Adams State. They give the true meaning of love and truth.
The first play of this two-part series is called “Four Seasons,” and it was written by Jon Schneider and directed by senior theatre major, Katie Fuleki. This show is all about the trials and stipulations of a normal relationship, but with a twist that will make you gasp in disbelief and possibly despise one of the main characters. This production follows the changing of seasons as the title states. Through each season, there are emotions that everyone goes through, especially in any relationship. This production also explains what happens when rules are broken and risks are taken, through the actors expressions, and what they are truly saying.
The second play is called “Logged-In,” written and directed by senior theatre and creative writing major, Derek Chacon. This show is about the relationships that we face in the cyber world, on and off the internet. Through this play, you get to see what really happens when you mix the cyber world with the real world. This production explains the hardships that the world needs to overcome with the age of technology. Relationships are tested, but you also get to see how cool it is to be logged-in with the cyber world all around us.
These plays are fantastic. It will be great to see what the actors will bring to the show when it opens March 4. These shows are not only about love, but they are about life in a way that we may not see normally. They give a whole new aspect to the perception of relationships, and create and atmosphere that will have you wanting more. Even though these shows are definitely not family oriented, mature audience members will have the time of their life watching these shows. No doubt you will agree that keeping a relationship, on and off the internet, is definitely a challenge.
These shows do have language that may not be suitable for young audiences. The hashtag for this show says this production is for mature audiences only. This show will run from March 4 to March 8, starting at 7:30pm in the ASU Xperimental Theatre. The box office is officially open for this show and will continue to be open until the show closes. To reserve your ticket, please call 719-587-TIXX (8499). You don’t want to miss out on these amazing plays that will blow your mind!
