The Adams State Theatre Department’s Christmas show, A Christmas Carol, brings the magic of Charles Dickens to the stage, directed by Dr. John Taylor. The show premiered on Dec. 3 and closes on Dec. 11.
The cast of this show brings their own unique style to their characters. With intense rehearsals, the cast and crew creates a show that is perfect for all ages. Dr. Taylor made his own version of the show, but still keeping the story-line of the original.
A Christmas Carol show’s Ebenezer Scrooge being visited by his dead friend’s spirit to warn him about the coming of three more spirits, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future, to get Scrooge to change his ways before he ends up like his friend.
With each spirits visit, Scrooge is confronted with feelings that he has pushed to side and is compelled to feel what he has repressed for years. With Dr. Taylor’s unique take on this classic story, this show comes alive and shows how the gift of giving is better than getting.
In my opinion, this show is the best Christmas show that Adams State Theatre has put on. The lights and sound made this show come alive to the audience and to the actors as well. This show is performed on the Main Stage at the theatre of Adams State.  This year’s production of A Christmas Carol runs for about one hour and thirty five minutes with a fifteen minute intermission. With tickets sold out, this years show will be the best to ring in the holiday spirit just in time for Christmas. Call 587-Tixx (8499) to see if there were any cancellations. With that, in the words of Tiny Tim, “God bless us, everyone“.
