I recently discovered that when you’re very young it’s easy to discern the meaning within Halloween. Whether you told yourself it was about getting enough candy to last you through until next year, or to secure the most unique/ scary costume, Halloween’s meaning was cemented in mind. And as you grew older, you might have found that the reason you thought was so convincing suddenly started crumbling away.
And while it may not serve as such a cemented logic as candy, or costumes had at one time, I’m here to suggest that you turn away from an inner focus, and look outward to those less fortunate. This Saturday – October 29 – participants in the Monster Mash Dash 5k will bolt from the line at 11 a.m. in Cole Park.
