Nielsen Library Hosts Spanish Trail Presentation

The Adams State University Nielsen Library will host a presentation by Dr. Douglas Knudson on the Old Spanish Trail. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, in the library second floor lounge. He will discuss his book Characters of the Old Spanish Trail, which profiles some two dozen families and individuals that traveled the trail. Copies will also be available for purchase. The event is free and pizza and beverages will be provided.

Knudson grew up in Pueblo, Colo. He earned his BS and MS in forestry from Colorado State University and a PhD in forestry from Purdue University. He taught at Purdue for 39 years before returning home to Colorado and settling in South Fork. He also served on the board of the Old Spanish Trail Association for 10 years. Characters of the Old Spanish Trail is his first book.
