Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Mavericks In Season Opener

Men’s lacrosse kicked off their season Friday afternoon against the Colorado Mesa Mavericks. The Grizzlies were led in scoring by seniors John Beedle and Danny Mays, each scoring four and three goals respectively.  The Mavericks took the lead early on in the game. The first quarter was a one goal game until the Mavericks scored with :41 remaining, bringing the score to 5-3.  While the Grizzlies continued to battle the Mavericks continued to build their lead and pulled ahead for the win.

The Grizzlies came out to play a strong fourth quarter scoring six goals. They were unable to

pull ahead of the Mavericks and take the game. The final score was 20-13 in favor of Mesa.

The Grizzlies are in action again Wednesday night at CSU-Pueblo and then again at home on Sunday, March 15 against Rockhurst at noon.
