HAYS, Kan.— Jerry Huff (Broomfield, Colo.) and Ryan Fillingame (Victorville, Calif.) each won individual titles while the Adams State College Grizzlies had eight placers en-route to a solid third place finish in the team standings at the NCAA Division II Super Region Four/Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, which wrapped up Sunday here at Fort Hays State University’s Gross Memorial Coliseum.
Huff and Fillingame will also be joined by four others— Max Ortega (Rio Rancho, N.M.), Josh Hensley (Alamosa, Colo.), Justin Samora (Cortez, Colo.) and Luke McPeek (Albuquerque, N.M.) at the NCAA Division II National Championships on Mar. 9-10 in Pueblo, Colo. as each earned a top-four finish.
Daniel Kelly (Parker, Colo.) also finished fourth but was bumped out of a national qualifying spot as fifth place finisher Derek Koehn of Fort Hays State had won a head-to-head meeting in the 157-pound championship quarterfinals on Saturday.
