The Adams State College Theatre department opens the 2010-11 season, its tenth year in the ASC Theatre building, with “Two Rooms” a dramatic love story surrounded by the complications created by international politics and terrorism.
Written by Lee Blessing in 1988, “Two Rooms” is as relevant today as it was more than 20 years ago, especially considering the anti-U.S. fervor and complex international relations in the Middle East.
Directed by Professor Jenna Neilsen, “Two Rooms” stars Jacob Sorling and Kaitlyn Perham as Michael and Lainie Wells, a married couple who are separated when Michael is kidnapped and held hostage by terrorists in Beirut.
Mason Miller co-stars as an investigative journalist named Walker Harris who approaches Lainie about her ordeal upon returning to the U.S., and Eleanor Smith as a State Department official assigned to the case.
“Two Rooms” opens this weekend, Oct. 1-2, with performances at 8 p.m. Additional performances are scheduled for Oct. 7-9 at 8 p.m., and Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. Call 587-TIXX (8499) for reservations.
