ALAMOSA (March 12) – The exhibit, SQUARED, an interpretive exhibition, opening reception is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, March 14 in the Adams State University Cloyde Snook Gallery, located in the Art Building.
The National Juried Exhibition includes artwork in all media. SQUARED explores the concept and/or literal format of the square or cube. All works submitted conformed to this basic theme. Jurors for the show were Eric Berkemeyer, curatorial assistant for the Denver Art Museum Department of Native Arts, and Randy Pijoan, who established Ventero Open Press Fine Art. The show was curated by Eugene Schilling, Adams State professor of art, and Charise Mixa, Adams State graduate art student.
Berkemeyer said creators of the strongest works in the show balanced the use of multiple approaches to stunning effect. “I am pleased that we could include all of the artists represented here and congratulate them on their good work.”
The Hatfield Gallery “Best of” Student Show reception is also Friday, March 14. Both exhibits continue through April 4. For information call the Art Department Office at 719-587-7823.
