Over the past weekend, the Adams State College School of Business kicked off their free tax service to students and faculty here at the college. The service is available every Saturday from now until April 15 in the School of Business lobby from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, the service will also be open Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This season is often very stressful for millions of working class families preparing to have their taxes filed. To prevent any mistakes and to ensure qualifying for the proper exemptions, families usually turn to various companies, such as H &R Block, for help. With the School of Business providing a free alternative, the decision to have your taxes done here on-campus could save hundreds of additional dollars.  They will assist by searching for eligible tax credits and exemptions while efficiently preparing your taxes.

The School of Business does ask for those seeking help filing taxes to bring the necessary documents with them on the night which they are scheduled to attend. For more information about what documents exactly to bring in and if you qualify for the service, you may contact the ASC business department.

The School of Business teamed up with the Piton Foundation, a private organization committed to helping families in poverty improve their lifestyles. The Foundation is originated in the local Denver region.
