Adams State College’s Jason Lamb has resigned from his position as Director of Lacrosse, effective immediately, it was announced today by Athletics Director Larry Mortensen.
“We appreciate all that Coach Lamb has done in such a short period of time in establishing lacrosse at Adams State. He’s been a tremendous asset and we wish him success at Notre Dame,” said Mortensen.
Lamb, who became the Grizzlies’ first ever Director of Lacrosse when he was hired in February of 2010 to oversee the start-up of the ASC men’s and women’s lacrosse programs, will be joining the University of Notre Dame as the Director of Operations for Men’s Lacrosse.
“My vision, and my dreams, for the program at Adams State were to make it a top 10 level team, and I know that is what’s possible with this team, and leaving it at this time is what has caused the feelings of uneasiness that come with accepting this great position (at Notre Dame),” said Lamb.
In his new position with the Fighting Irish, Lamb will be in charge of the logistics surrounding the men’s lacrosse team’s travel, film, equipment, scheduling, sponsorship, camps and clinics, and will also be tasked with improving the experience of the players.
Mortensen also announced on Monday that Adams State assistant coach John McCreery, who joined the lacrosse staff during the fall of 2010, will serve as the interim head coach in the spring..
