Chelsea F.C. continued their flawless performance in the English Premier League after winning an absolutely amazing game as visitors of the team from Liverpool. With this win, Chelsea F.C. maintained their lead and are still holding the first place in the current league standings with 9 points. By far the most interesting thing of the game was the absolutely spectacular final score – 3:6! Two of the goals for Chelsea F.C. scored this summer’s top signing for the team from London, Diego Costa. For the 11 minutes between the 66th and the 77th the fans saw 5 goals. The visitors from Chelsea have now scored 11 goals in their first 3 games of the season, and the home team Everton FC has been scored on 10 times since the beginning of the season. The team from Liverpool is still trying to find their first win for the 2014/2015 Premier League season after having won only 2 points after the first 3 games so far.
The game started great for the blues from London, and they had a 2 goal lead after only 3 minutes of playing. Diego Costa opened the score in the 35th second, and 2 minutes later the defender Branislav Ivanovich found himself in a goal scoring position and didn’t miss. After the replays were shown it was clear that the Serbian international was in an offside position before he scored the 2nd goal in the game, but the referee missed that and Chelsea FC were sitting on a comfortable lead. Just a couple minutes later the referees made another mistake, but this time it was in Everton’s favor. When Tim Howard caught the ball outside of his 18-yard box he should have received a straight red card. At the end of the first half, Everton got the inspiration they were looking for from their midfielder Kevin Mirallas, who scored after a beautiful shot to make the score 1:2.
During the second half the visitors pulled back their offensive actions and were able to create some space for their fast and technical attacking players. In the 66th minute, after a solo run by Eden Hazard and a deflection in Everton’s defender, the ball ended up in the back of Tim Howard’s net. Instead of putting this game away and slowing the pace down, this 3rd goal for Chelsea had the exact opposite effect. Only 2 minutes later Steven Naismith scored for Everton to make it 2:3. After cutting down Chelsea’s lead for a second time, the team from Liverpool allowed another goal and in the 74th minute, after a long-range shot by Nemanja Matic, the 2-goal difference was restored and was now 2:4 for Chelsea FC. However, Everton had still not said its final words, and the former Chelsea forward, Samuel Eto’o, who came on as a substitution, scored a beautiful header for Everton and made it 3:4. In the attack that followed Samuel Eto’s goal, Chelsea’s number 7, Ramires, scored again for the blues making it 3:5 after a quick attack down the right flank of Chelsea’s attack. Diego Costa scored a goal in the opening minute so he decided to utilize the 1v1 chance that Everton’s midfield decided to give him in the 90th minute and scored again, making it 3:6 for the final score.
