Adams State College has a wonderful club called Outdoor Program. It’s an excellent way for the students to get that out-of-doors experience. The club takes various trips throughout the year that let the students see beautiful Colorado and its surroundings. They usually have nine students and staff on each trip.
Over the last month, the program has made two trips. They went for a hike up Mount Blanca and went mountain biking. One participating student commented, “I love it. I’ve never gotten to do things like this before; its’ exciting and refreshing.”
Assitant coordinator Rachelle Perez is looking forward to the club’s future rafting and kayaking trips. These trips will take place in the spring. The group will raft along the Rio Grande.
The biggest trip they have planned this year is to Chaco Canyon for a camping and hiking trip. Chaco Canyon is located in New mexico. The trip will take place druing fall break from October 16- October 18.
The program will have many coming events such as rock climbing, camping, biking and other fun outdoor experiences.
