Adams State sophomore Lizzy Schossow has been named as this week’s ASCGrizzlies.com and Paw Print Athlete of the Week.
Schossow hit a solid .600 (6-for-10) in four games, picking up her first two home runs of the season, while also cranking out two doubles and nabbing five RBI.
Schossow hit for a solid 1.400 slugging percentage during the weekend while recording a .667 on-base percentage in a 4-game series against Colorado Mines.
Starting in right field and at third base during the weekend, Schossow had a hit in every game of the series blasting a 3-run homer, the eventual game-winner in the series finale on Sunday.
She also had just one error in 16 total defensive chances during the weekend.
The ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week award, which will be handed out weekly, was selected by a vote of media members and ASC administrators as well as by visitors to the Grizzly website, who could cast their vote in an online poll.
A new poll will be posted each Sunday night after all of the Grizzly teams have concluded their competition for the weekend.
The votes will be tabulated each Wednesday, when the Athlete of the Week will be announced.
