Grizzlies Character Saga

Alexandra Rivera, known on campus as “Ali,” is a Junior of Adams State. Ali is a 21 year old Communication major, born in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised in Colorado Springs. Ali is the youngest in her family, with ten older brothers. “It’s the weirdest, coolest family, but crazy,” she stated. In her high school years she played basketball and was a cheerleader at Coronado High School. Ali also participated in the Journalism club. After graduation, Ali worked to save up for her college degree. In January of 2012 Ali entered Adams State University as a freshman. “I did not do very well my first year, but I wish I had done better.” Soon after, Ali discovered her dream of working as a fashion journalist. Her goals include working for Vogue, London. Ali has buckled down upon this realization and is treading through the scholastic bogs in order to accomplish her goals and dreams.  So there you have it! Among you Grizzlies is the Character of “Ali,” and she’s preparing herself here at Adams State for a voice in the fashion industry.

Aaron Abeyta, known on campus as professor Abeyta, is 43 years old. Professor Abeyta is a husband and a father to his daughter Ruth, whom they adopted from Ethiopia. Professor Abeyta was born and raised in the town Antonito, and recently got elected as the mayor. Professor Abeyta enjoys fishing and spending time with family.  Abeyta teaches creative writing and several other English courses At Adams. The reason why he enjoys Adams is because of the hard working students and the diversity it has to offer. Professor Abeyta attended the University of Washington and graduated from Colorado State in Fort Collins where he got his bachelors degree in Creative Writing and his master’s degree in poetry. Professor Abeyta chose his path due to his love for writing and his love for teaching students, as well as watching students grow as writers and as people. Professor Abeyta believes honesty is the best technique when it comes to his style of teaching because he believes it helps students’ progress. Professor Abeyta’s plans after teaching are to fish, relax, and to revel in his retirement. There you have it Grizzlies! The character of Professor Aaron Abeyta.
