This Saturday, October 12th from 8am to noon, Milagros Coffeehouse will be hosting the grand opening for the newest program at La Puente, Seedme. So stop before, during, or after the homecoming parade to support the new program and enjoy 50% off barista made drinks.
Seedme stands for Socially Embracing Each Dream, Micro-Enterprises and is a new branch of the La Puente social enterprises.
Three members of the La Puente community participated in the Leading Edge Course through the Small Business Development Center at ASU last year to gain a better understanding of starting and operating a small business. The Seedme initiative aims to help individuals start and sustain micro-enterprises right here in the San Luis Valley.
At the grand opening on Saturday customers will be connected with the five artisans who are included in the launch of the program through a new display in the coffee shop. Come check out the stories and products of Calvin – macramé jewelry, Pearl – candles, Rebekah – gemstone jewelry, and Joseph and Eileen – soap, lotion, and chapstick.
Through your support we can aim to socially embrace each dream.
If you are interested in volunteering with La Puente or finding out more about our programs please visit the Volunteer Coordination and Community Education office at 317 State Ave, call 917-587-3499, or email communityvolunteers.lapuente@gmail.com.
