ALAMOSA (August 30) The Adams State University Zacheis Planetarium will be offering programming that includes free shows through the month of September.
Thursday evening programs start at 7:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m.
The Planetarium will offer a live earth program on September 5. September 12 will include a showing of “Oasis in Space.” September 19 will feature “Creatures of the Night” with Sand Dunes Ranger Danielle York. On September 26, “Earthquake: Evidence of a Restless Planet” will be shown.
Friday movies begin at 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Doors will open at 4:15 p.m.
Friday movies include: September 6 – “Dynamic Earth,” September 13 – “Natural Selection,” September 20 – “Two Small Pieces of Glass,” and September 27 – “Tales of the Maya Skies.”
A special show on Saturday, September 7, will be held at the Great Sand Dunes National Park, “Celestial Festival,” with guest speaker and telescopes for viewing. Meet in the Sand Dunes parking lot at 7:30 p.m.
All shows are free and open to the general public. Tickets will be available at the planetarium when the doors open and are required for entry to the theater due to limited seating.
