Adams State College junior football player Trevor Eggleston (Tuscon, Ariz.) has been named the ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 23.
Eggleston completed 25-of-41 passes in the Grizzlies’ 46-0 victory on the road against Fort Lewis College on Saturday, Oct. 22. Eggleston also rushed three times during the game, racking up 34 yards and averaging 11.3 yards per carry. He threw no interceptions and helped reclaim the Musket that the Grizzlies lost in last year 14-7 loss. The Grizzlies advanced to 5-3 overall and 3-3 in RMAC play.
The ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week award, which will be handed out weekly, was selected by a vote of media members and ASC athletic administrators as well as by visitors to the Grizzly website, who could cast their vote in an online poll.
Eggleston received five first place votes and one second place votes from media members. He also earned 48 percent of the online votes.
Men’s soccer player Cody Sprouse, women’s soccer player Jessica Hellweg, men’s cross country runner Nathan Sellers, women’s cross country runner Alicia Nelson, and volleyball player Deprece Washington were this week’s other nominees.
