Dustin Bolt
Adams State College senior football player Dustin Bolt (Alamosa, Colo.) has been named the ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 9.
Bolt recorded a total of 21 points in the Grizzlies 30-24 overtime victory against New Mexico Highlands on Saturday, Oct. 8 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Bolt had a total of nine receptions for 149 yards, a season-best and career second-best. Bolt caught three touchdowns of 6, 24, and 30 yards. He also had his first two rushes of the season which accounted for 24 of the Grizzlies 453 yards of total offense. Bolt also kicked a 23 yard field goal in the fourth quarter and punted six times for an average of 41.2 yards per punt. The Grizzlies improved to 3-3 on the season and 1-3 in the RMAC.
The ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week award, which will be handed out weekly, was selected by a vote of media members and ASC athletic administrators as well as by visitors to the Grizzly website, who could cast their vote in an online poll.
Bolt received all but one first place vote from media members and administrators and also earned 57.5 percent of the online votes.
Volleyball player Dominique Davis, women’s soccer player Jessica Hellweg, and men’s soccer player Michael Miller were this week’s other nominees.
