Adams State College women’s lacrosse athlete Amanda Hisel has been named as the ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week award for the week ending April 3.
Hisel, recorded five total goals and one assist in two games. She also had four ground balls, six draw control wins and four caused turnovers. Hisel had a school-record four goals in Monday’s game against Converse (S.C.)
The ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week award, which will be handed out weekly, was selected by a vote of media members and ASC athletic administrators as well as by visitors to the Grizzly website, who could cast their vote in an online poll. This week Grizzly fans that follow the Grizzlies on Facebook were also able to vote and their votes were counted with the online poll numbers.
Hisel won the online vote by getting 74.4 percent of the 82 votes cast online while softball centerfielder Katelyn Lovato recieved 24.4 percent of the votes and men’s lacrosse athlete Peter Santamaria recieved 2.4 percent.
Lovato finished the weekend by hit .750 (12-16) with one double, two triples, four runs scored and one RBI in 4-game series against Regis. She was 1-for-4 on stolen base attempts.
Santamaria led the Grizzlies with two goals in Sunday’s game against Dominican (Calif.). He also had two groundballs.
