Alamosa Creates: Show Us How – Wednesday April 9th

For the past 18-months, the city of Alamosa has been working on creating a Colorado Creative District in Alamosa. There are 30 such districts in Colorado including Salida, La Veta, Trinidad, Gunnison, etc. CCD is a state-wide initiative of the Colorado Creative Industries, our state’s art agency housed in the Office of Economic Development and International Trade.

Being awarded the title of a Creative District certifies that a community contributes to our local and state’s economy through creativity, culture, and the arts. The program’s goal is to help communities increase jobs, incomes, and investments in locales that hold space for the arts and culture.

On April 9th, there will be the first of four community gatherings from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Xperimental Theatre. At “Alamosa Creates: Show Us How,” you will learn more about Colorado Creative Districts and provide ideas for what you would like to see happen with our creative district.

Please join us and let’s imagine together the future of the arts in Alamosa.
