Join La Puente in a week of events to celebrate Hunger Education Week, April 22 through the 28th. The week will kick off with the CROP Hunger Walk, a 5k walk starting at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Alamosa and ending Saturday the 28th with Generosity on Tap, a live and silent auction event at the San Luis Valley Brewing Company, starting at 7 p.m. with live music by Don Richmond and the Rifters.
Other Hunger Education Week events include a red and green chile cook-off and tasting at the Rainbow’s End Thrift Store on Tuesday, April 24 from 11:30 to 2:30, open mic night for writers and musicians at Milagros on Wednesday, April 25 from 7 to 9, and Food Stamped, a documentary, at Milagros on Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m. All Hunger Education Week events raise money for the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley. The Feinstein Foundation has pledged a one million dollar giveaway to help make donations to hunger related programs go further during the month of April. The more money our community raises, the more money the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley may be eligible to receive.  For more information on these events, to purchase tickets for Generosity on Tap, or to register a chili dish, please call 719 -587- 3499.
