Get Your Color On During the ASU Autumn Colors 5K

ALAMOSA (August 28) – Runners will burst with color as they cross the finish line during Autumn Colors 5K. The event, part of Adams State University Autumn@Adams Week, begins at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the East Campus. Free registration begins at 3:30 p.m. A signed waiver is required for all runners.
Throughout the fun run, participants will have color, dyed corn starch, tossed at them. There is no registration fee and the first 100 to enter the run will receive a free t-shirt and sunglasses. Runners will be asked to sign a waiver the day of the 5K, for runners under the age of 18, they will need to have a parent sign the waiver.
Although the color will be directed at runner’s torso, it can easily get all over – protective eyewear is recommended. After the 5K, the color can transfer to vehicles and homes. There will be methods of removing the vast majority of color at the finish line – but can’t be guaranteed to remove all color.

Free registration for the Autumn Colors 5K begins at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the East Campus.

The Human Performance and Physical Education Department will host an open house from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. the same date. HPPE is located in the East Campus Building, formerly Evans Elementary.
Autumn@Adams Week is September 8 through September 13. Events compliment the 2014 theme, Great Expression/Gran Expresión, including dance, poetry, music, visual art creative processes; a Last Lecture by President David Svaldi; the second annual HPPE Open House; a presentation on the language of the SLV; and the annual cook-off.
